It's true. I may be addicted to Rightmove. But I can't be the only one?

Ok, I do actually have a reason to be on Rightmove as we’re trying to move house. But even if we weren’t, I seem to have a problem. I can’t help but look at houses in all sorts of locations, imagining what walls I’d knock down, where I’d put the Christmas tree, how I’d relocate the kitchen etc. Yes it’s part of my job to think like this but there’s also an element of being really nosy- seeing how other people live, how they’ve configured the space, the colours they’ve used, antiques they’ve found, what seems to matter to them most in their home.

Let’s face it, I rarely come across anything in budget or that doesn’t need a full rip out, but it’s fun to see what’s out there and I’m also so impressed by the people that DO end up taking on some of these huge renovations. The people who valiantly tackle some of these beautiful old buildings and try and restore them to their former glory. The trick is adding in the comforts and ease of living necessary for modern life or young families, whilst retaining that original charm and craftsmanship. It’s these beautiful old houses that have the great bones, the solid structures, the history and stories in their walls.

Here’s a few of my favourites, currently on the market. Mostly for daydreaming about, unless you happen to have the budget or appetite for a project!
